The Harmony of 432 Hz and 528 Hz - Tuning In to the Cosmic Hum

People are easily deluded by the hope or promise of healing and peace, and tend to dismiss real solutions as "airy fairy", or "too spiritual", rather than getting fooled. For this reason, most people don't know when good things change.

In 1953, following the recommendation of evil Nazi propaganda genius Joseph Goebbels, the International Standards Organisation ruled that all western music conform to the tuning where "A" is set at 440 Hz - 8 Hz higher than it has always been, since ancient times.

Music, scales, and tuning, come from the same source of knowledge that built the Great Pyramid - a device which we have yet to understand. This ancient knowledge was so powerful that, long after the fall of those empires, only the initiated are taught their secrets: Kabala, Merkhaba, Tantra, Yoga, Ti Chi...
Who is Joseph Goebbels? Did he design accurate observatories and perfectly astronomically aligned Ziggurats? Why did we listen to his propaganda? Did we really know what we were doing when we raised the key of our music system by 8 Hz? Do we have the skill to perceive the difference that it may have on us?

When you tune your car radio, you are "tuning-in" to a certain frequency. 8 Hz is the difference between the signal you want, and noise.

Don't roll your eyes, its not a conspiracy theory, it just fact. Ask yourself this: when you learned history at school, did you learn about the atrocities committed by your country's soldiers, the lives pointlessly lost through incompetence or arrogance? Were you taught anything that would embarrass you or make you ashamed of what your country has done in the past? Or did you learn most of that through personal research and talking to people who saw the other side of your history lessons?
History is written by the victors, and the fact is, we are not told the whole truth, because if we knew what really happened, we would question our political leaders when they told us to go war against foreign terrorists, and we would question our religious leaders when they told us that foreigners have a rubbish God, and we have the real one.

Cymatics prooved that the Om sound at the right frequency creates the shape of the Shree Yantra in sand
Cymatics prooved that the Om sound at the right frequency creates the shape of the Shree Yantra in sand
For those who are willing to listen, the Cosmos is making music. If we could tune-in to the "Cosmic Hum", we would find bliss and well-being. A seemingly incredulous claim, this fact is evident from thousands of years of continuous use. The ancient Indian Vedas (books of science), instruments recovered from ancient Egypt and Sumer (Iraq), Greek mathematician Pythagoras, opera legend Verdi, natural scientist Rudolf Steiner, and an increasing body of modern anecdotal evidence published by the ever mushrooming learning culture of the internet, are the endorsements of the legend that 432 Hz and 528 Hz are in fact healing sounds.

Sacred Geometry, Music of the Spheres, the Cosmic Hum

Music of the Spheres is an alchemical principle explored by Pythagoras, rooted in Kabala, that assigns each planet a note in the scale, and maps the passage of a traveller from Earth to Heaven. The Cosmic Hum is described by Hindu mystics who claim to be able to hear a continuous OM sound. These concepts are really one and the same. In the remaining architecture of sites like the Giza plateaux in Egypt, Ankor Wat temple complex in Cambodia, and the stone circles at Carnac and Stone Henge, to name only the most well known, we have an undeniable record of just how much importance the ancient world placed on sacred geometry.

Ancient structures were often aligned using "Sacred Geometry"
Sacred Geometry Cosmic Alignment - Giza, Ankor Wat, Carnac, Stone Henge

The architects of these structures spent incredible effort on precision alignments, and measurements that correspond with cosmic numbers. (Graham Hancock's YouTube series on ancient temple sites is highly recommended.) The reason for all that effort is the belief that microcosm mirrors macrocosm - our bodies are microcosmic, holographic representations of the macrocosm, the greater cosmos. This belief comes up in every ancient culture: shamanic, Egyptian, Aboriginal, and it is still alive and well in the Chinese science of Feng Shui, and the Indian science of Vastu Shastra. The design of your house and property, and the placement of your furnishings has a direct bearing on your health, relationships, wealth, and success. When these architects get the geometry right, they build structures that are in harmony with the cosmos, which means that the people who occupy these structures will be healthy, wealthy, and successful.

Architecture is Sacred Geometry when it mirrors the human body, which is created in proportion to the Cosmos

432 Hz and 528 Hz - The Sound of the Cosmos

"All science is ultimately derived from vibration. Compound physics distils into math, and from there into geometry, but you can also create geometry from vibration"
Jamie Buturff
If we convert the numerical values of cosmic measurements into frequencies, we will begin to uncover patterns, systems, and programs that predict occurrences, for example the Golden Mean system. We can understand this from one, or any combination of 5 explanations:

1. Direct Experience
Sound meditation using the 432 Hz "A" is the easiest way to understand what all this fuss is about. Last Thursday I facilitated a guided Chakra meditation using isochronic pure tones of the 432 Hz tuning. The Vedas tell us that Chakras are energy fields generated by the electro-chemical activity of the 6 major ganglia (dense networks of nerves) in the nervous system. Each Chakra has a different frequency, and emits light of a certain colour, too low to be perceived by the average human eye. (The light and colour of Chakras can be seen by those who have trained their perception, and by certain equipment, eg Chakra Photography.)

7 Isochronic Chakra tones with Tibetan tuning to 432 Hz

The feedback from this meditation session was very positive. Everyone felt extremely relaxed and at peace afterwards, and a few people reported actually being able to see the colours of their Chakras, activated by the sounds. This meditation will be available for download as soon as possible, see available audio.

Frequency-Following Response, Binaural Beats, the "God" helmet??? - What are the limits of FFR technology?

Frequency-Following Response, (or more affectionately: FFR) is a scientific way to describe "grooving to your favourite tune". And it's a handy phrase in that it points to the neural function that would otherwise be referred to rather insubstantially as: "You know that feeling you get when you listen to good music?"

FFR was discovered in 1839 by Heinrich Dove, the neuro-scientist who revealed that the "beat" observed when hearing two, dissonant, pure tones, is assimilated in the brain when the two tones are presented separately through stereo headphones. By changing the frequency (the note) of the two tones, Dove observed that the brain patterns of his subjects were responding by "following" the changes in frequency.

The topic was dismissed as irrelevant by the medical community until 1973, when it was revisited by Dr. Gerald Oster, who's research paper "Auditory Beats In The Brain" was published in Scientific American. But the attitude of the medical associations remained a condescending "Ok, so what?"

It may be of interest that, at this point, the implications of FFR were the replacement of risky experimental psycho-active drugs with self hypnosis - learning positive suggestions aided by Binaural Beats - and that the very idea of such a revolution in accepted psychological treatment immediately provoked a strongly negative response from the medical fraternity, and more specifically the pharmaceutical industry.

Koren "God" Helmet, Stanley Koren,
senior technician for the research group

Like Tesla, Essiac, and water cars, FFR technology went underground, and came up recently in a highly controversial project which became known as "The God Helmet". Taking the Frequency-Following Response to a new extension, Dr. Michael Persinger's research into the role of the limbic system in the perception of mystical experiences, Laurentian University's Neuroscience Department, resulted in the construction of an apparatus which provides magnetic signals to the brain, and runs on a computer software program. The brain follows the frequency of the signals, and according to test subject reports, tends to produce experiences of a spiritual nature.

NLP, Binaural Beats, and Isochronic Tones

[Bin = two; aural = audible] - An illusory beat is perceived when pure tones of slightly different frequency are separately and simultaneously presented to each ear.

Frequency-Following Response: The neural firing rate "follows" the perceived frequency.

Do pure tone binaural beats sometimes make you feel queasy? You may find that isochronic tones create a more gentle, less dissonant carrier wave for your affirmations and intentions, or you may find them annoying and distracting, and binaural beats really do it for you - the important thing is that you find a carrier wave that works for you, because FFR (Frequency-Following Response) is hard-wired, and everyone can benefit from it.

FFR is a scientific way to describe grooving to your favourite tune. Its a handy phrase, because it points to the neural function that would otherwise be referred to rather insubstantially as: "You know that feeling you get when you listen to good music?"

Everybody knows that music effects our emotions if we allow it. Do you choose your CDs and playlists specifically to lift you up? Keep you feeling good? Of course you do! Why would anyone listen to terrible music?

And if music is so powerful, and the Frequency-Following Response is a sure thing, why not take it one step further: you could theoretically "program" anything you like into the music you listen to, and your mind would follow it. You would start to feel how you want to feel, and if you feel how you want to feel then your behaviour and reactions will change, and if your behaviour is different then different things will happen to you, and if different things happen to you, things that you want, then your life is changing, isnt it?

This idea is perhaps the most over-simplified, underestimated, misunderstood, and consequently dismissed concept of self empowering personal development. Most people either deny it outright or see it as a lazy way to make a profound and amazing life transformation. Most products in this field promise to do all the work for you - and the fact is: all attempts based on laziness fail, because no-one can transform your life for you.

Misunderstanding binaural beats and expecting your life to change is like trying to build a microwave out of headphones and then dismissing microwave technology as pseudoscience.

Experimentation with binaural beats revealed the Frequency-Following Response in the late 1800s, but the medical world had already turned to pharmaceuticals, and any attempt to research "alternative" therapies was quickly branded as quackery, and abandoned. Even the resurgence of interest in the 1970s, and a publication of Scientific American featuring the research of neuro-scientist Gerald Oster (Auditory Beats In The Brain), was not enough to merit a full scale enquiry by the medical fraternity. One may hazard a guess that, once you know the formula and the correct method of use, binaural beats and isochronic tones can too easily be produced on a home PC using free software, and if the AMA allowed that, who would buy their fancy expensive anxiety pills?

Recovering From Abandonment - when Love runs out of Time

Have you ever noticed how, in every instance of abandonment, there is always a hidden clock?

Somewhere in there is a loop counter - a silent fuse, a secret measurement of the number of attempts you have - unknown to you until the termination of your relationship, which, unless the dynamics changed, would inevitably self-destruct after a certain time had passed.

Parent, child, relationship partner, business partner, teacher, student ... anyone you care about who walks away from you can make you feel abandoned or unwanted.

To understand why people walk out on us, we can turn the tables, and ask: what would make you abandon someone who you feel is getting too heavy? What do you do when you feel that your happiness or survival is being threatened by someone who is slowing you down?

You may try to communicate the problem, being pro-active, assertive, but if that does'nt work, then what? You try again, or try something different, but subconsciously the loop counter begins, because you don't want anyone to take advantage of your good nature. Subconsciously, you record the number of attempts, because if this situation does not change, you will have to abandon the sinking (relation)ship, or go down with it. With each failed attempt at solving the problem, your disappointment accumulates, you begin to feel like you're wasting your time, your patience wears thin, and then one day, Love runs out of Time.

Where physical separation is inconvenient or impossible, we detach emotionally, living in the same house, but leading parallel lives.

The abandonment complex is often buried deep beneath the surface of our awareness, sometimes completely covered by emotions like depression, anger, or anxiety, or obsessions such as shopping, sex, or substance abuse. When a relationship ends, and we feel grief and loss, the reason for the depth of that emotional hurt, is the primordial fear of abandonment, which goes back way beyond childhood, its encoded on a genetic level.

For social animals like primates, being abandoned means having to fend for ourselves, which is a significant survival risk. Even the most recluse, independent individuals must rely on others for their income and survival. For humans, abandonment is one of our primordial, deepest fears.

The 10 Million Dollar Question Is - What Can We Do About It?

To come back to primates, lets say that a little monkey in a big rain forest is abandoned, not necessarily because the other monkeys don't like him, maybe the others were eaten by tigers, but he has to come up with a survival plan: Where is the food? Where are the other monkeys? He journeys across the forest to look for food and the safety of companionship, and if he sticks to that strategy he will succeed. Any time he digresses from the plan, he can so easily become lost, wondering, desperate. As long as he's focussed on his goal, there is simply no time to be depressed. Anxiety or depression comes when he is sitting procrastinating in a tree, then he feels lonely, worrying, becoming more anxious and depressed because he's not getting any closer to his goal.

The truth is that sometimes, we need to do things on our own because there is no-one around to help. Anyone who finds it easy to change a tyre on the highway will tell you that its actually not that difficult, 10 minutes and you're back on the road. But what if it happens in a dangerous area? What we don't have a lot of physical strength? How do we become strong and independent? How do we know what to do? How can we connect our desires with a strategy and a plan of action?

When I am faced with a life challenges, a fresh perspective always clarifies what I need to do, and often reveals a few options that I would otherwise have overlooked. If I were the monkey, the first thing I would do is climb to the top of a tree, and get a good view of where I am... where I would like to be... and the shortest, safest possible rout for me to get there.

This will seem counter-intuitive to people who are anxious to start their journey and not waste any time, and it will seem difficult to people who don't know what to do, and frequently experience a catatonic sate (moments of being unable to move, just staring). For this reason I compiled a workshop in 2010 called "Getting Back On Your Feet - How to recover from grief and loss of love" - in which the metaphor of climbing a tree to get a better perspective of the forest, is applied to your real life situation. We look at all your options, and identify any unconscious behaviour that is stopping you from pursuing a more direct path to your goal - or even stopping you from seeing what your goal really is - and then we set out an instruction manual for your specific rout, to reach your goal. Finally, To help you put your plan into action, we'll look at how powerful your thoughts are in creating your mood, and develop a personal affirmation for you, that works with your individual suggestibility. This is one of my most frequently requested workshops because it helps with both sides of the coin - gives you motivation when you feel down, and relaxation when you feel stressed.

Getting Back On Your Feet - How to recover from grief and loss of love

Workshop Synopsis:

  • What Do I Really Want?
  • Passion, Logic, and Goals
  • How To Climb Up, One Step At A Time
  • When Last Did I Relax?
  • Knowing My Mind
  • Choosing My Thoughts

Duration: 2 hours
Cost: R200 (includes printed notes)
Venue: The Soul Sanctuary 124 Florida Road,
Time: 5pm, Oct 23
Bookings: 079 567 4261

The method is based on actual survival skills, which can always be applied to psychological scenarios. You will come out of this workshop with your own complete set of instructions and personal motivation material, which not only lets you navigate through your current life challenge, but also has you coming out exactly where you want to be.

The ancient Myans believed that time was divided into day and night, not only physically, but also psychologically. "Day" was a time for extroversion, when outer progress could be made in life, where as "Night" was a time for inner work, healing, planning, studying, preparing for the next "Day". Its ok if you are going through a "Night" time, and if that has been a few months or even years, then that is how long you have needed. But if you are ready now to reclaim your life and your goals, and recover from your grief and loss of love, then this is the time for you to move on. The opportunity is here.

OCD, Anxiety, and Serotonin

Terminology: OCD = Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. The word “Disorder” can be a powerful negative suggestion for the sufferer of this condition, and may cause the person to obsess about having OCD. For this reason the author uses the terminology “Obsessive Compulsive Behaviour”, to emphasise that the condition can be corrected.

Obsession = CAN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT IT

Compulsion = HAVE TO DO IT

Obsessive compulsive behaviour is characterised by the experience of uncontrollable and intrusive thoughts which are disturbing and repetitive. In an attempt to dislodge the disturbing thought, the individual performs certain actions or tasks compulsively, repeatedly, and with a high level of intensity.

Compulsive behaviour may take on the appearance of rituals, since the number of repetitions and the thoroughness with which the task is performed has no practical value, but is performed as a way of liberating the person from his or her troubling thoughts. This behaviour is time-consuming and frustrating to the individual, and at best provides only momentary relief from the unpleasant thoughts.

Associated Behaviour

  • Anxiety results from the stress of having to stay busy to avoid negative thinking
  • Cigarette smoking is a frequent “self-medication” trait because of the immediate calming effect of tobacco smoke, but in the long term smoking aggravates anxiety because of the adrenaline that the body releases to metabolise the toxins from the cigarette.
  • Low appetite due to anxiety causes insufficient nutrition, low blood sugar, and increased adrenaline, which then raises the anxiety level
  • Insomnia results from high adrenaline levels

Obsessive compulsive individuals are usually highly intelligent, and if they learn to manage their condition, they are high achievers in life. One has only to Google, to find a list of “OCD Celebrities”, amongst whom are David Beckham, Priyanka Chopra, Leonardo Dicaprio, Jessica Alba, Justin Timberlake, and Donald Trump.

Hormonal Characteristics - Body Chemistry

Neurochemically, obsessive compulsive behaviour is characterised by dopaminergic hyperfunction in the prefrontal cortex, and serotonergic hypofunction in the basal ganglia.

In simple English: dopamine, the hormone that makes you feel rewarded for getting something right, like winning or succeeding at something, is in over-supply, and serotonin, the hormone that makes you feel peaceful and that all is well, is in short supply.

Sports Hypnosis for Muscle Memory

You've been coached, you've put in the practice hours, you nailed it in the training, but when it comes to the moment that counts, sometimes it all goes out the window!!

... Sound familiar? Do you ever wonder why, after so many years of training, you still make mistakes? It's as if you're only using a fraction of your entire muscle memory.

It's one thing to get it right in practice, but with the pressure and adrenaline of the moment, your mind is in a state of overload - it's not easy to keep your head and take the shot you practised. If your thoughts would slow down, you could focus, and your muscles would remember how you did it in the practice sessions, but your mind is racing like a mosquito full of red bull!

Sometimes it all goes right. Its like the crowd and the competitors disappear and its just you. Everything happens perfectly, like a dream, without you even needing to think about it. Your body goes into auto-pilot, and you step aside and watch. It's called "The Zone". Your mind enters a state of natural trance, where your thoughts no longer inter-fear with your body's deep conditioning.

Anger, Anxiety, Asthma, and Your Inner Animal

How can animals let go after a fight? Can we do the same in law or business? NBSR Personal Development: Overcoming Anger, Anxiety and Asthma
The altercation is over, but your heart is still pounding. The calmness of your contained panic grips you. You try to force your movements and your breathing into slow and deliberate decorum - adrenaline still prickles through your system. You control the tremor in your voice, you sound calm even though your rib cage is vibrating and your mind is spinning, untied. With practised nonchalance, you watch your fingers for tell-tale shaking that would betray your inner rage - but you're holding it together. Meanwhile, deep in your subconscious mind, your state of calm is slowly returning like the exhausted walk back from a battle field.

Why do we fight like animals, triggered by a threat to our territory, personal space, or the right to be heard? Are'nt we supposed to be civilised? Have'nt we matured and evolved?

We may be doing an excellent job pretending to be refined. We have spectacular table etiquette, classical music, laws, constitutions, libraries, and record keeping. We hunt in Woolworths, eat with skill and elegance, fill our homes with sophistication, fashion and style, involve our emotions and happiness in the act of procreation, and we do all this with well trained practice in our specific culture.

But we can not escape the need to eat, establish a home, procreate, and defend these things and ourselves when we feel threatened. And when it comes to defending what we value, the refined mask of civilisation dissolves into thin air, and what is revealed is basically animal.

How can animals let go after a fight? Can we do the same in law or business? NBSR Personal Development: Overcoming Anger, Anxiety and Asthma
Think of your favourite animal. Do you notice how your animal never second guesses, never doubts, never wraps a banana leaf around it's waist and asks you: "Does this make me look fat?"

Your inner animal always knows what is best for you, and how to make you more comfortable and safe, because that's how life is nurtured. All animals instinctively remember this because they don't have a constant stream of distracting chatter going through their thoughts. We can not tell what animals are thinking, but we can see what they are doing, and by observing their behaviour, it is clear that animals always seem to know what they want.

When it comes to protecting their home, their personal space, or their young, animals don't hesitate. Attack is the best form of defence, and its all teeth and claws, scratching and biting, until success, surrender or death, and then...

... everything goes back to normal!!!

How do they do it?! How can animals be so calm after a fight?

Again, the behaviour tells us everything we need to know, and there can be only one explanation for calm behaviour in an animal: The event is no longer a concern. The threat is gone, the moment has passed. The animal has let go and moved on.

With NBSR Personal Development, you can overcoming Anger, Anxiety and Asthma
Since part of us is animal, we also know how to do this, and this ability to let go can be the deciding factor between those who deal with stress effectively, and those who become consumed by it. In the obsession for success, we forget why we started chasing it in the first place. This is especially evident in highly competitive careers such as law or business.

Job stress changes everything in your life because it changes you. If you are always one strand away from snapping, no-one can feel safe around you, not your spouse or your kids or your friends. Your inner animal may be fighting for you in business and making you lots of money or resolving your financial problems, but can you find your Attack Mode off switch? How much fun is it for a raging elephant's family?

Anger, anxiety, and asthma share a lot of common ground in the field of behavioural psychology:
  • They are all developments of present or passed stress
  • Progression causes an increasing difficulty in reversing the physical symptoms
  • Physical symptoms are described as "a tight feeling in the chest"
  • Physical symptoms are psychosomatic, and are therefore best addressed psychologically

Anger and anxiety management belong with wide acceptance to the field of psychology. Either a traumatic event from the past, or a present threat, activates the subconscious defence mechanisms (the inner animal) and the symptoms are anger, anxiety or both. But comparatively little is known about the psychosomatic nature of asthma.

A google search: "asthma psychosomatic" produces many pages of research, which along with my 15 years as a Yoga teacher, leave no doubt in my mind as to the best and most efficient long term treatment of asthma.

Asthma can be triggered by environmental causes such as dust, or altitude (air pressure). A psychosomatic asthma attack is triggered by an emotional stress or fear, or a sudden shock, the reaction of which is the narrowing of the bronchioles, which limits air flow into the lungs. Certain Yoga breathing techniques (Pranayama) can be practised for calming the mind and strengthening the lungs. The effect of practising these techniques during an asthma attack are immediate and cumulative, i.e. the more you practice the breathing techniques, the greater the benefits.

Pranayama:
  • Calms your mind and gives you the mental tools to remain calm emotionally through any stressful situation
  • When your mind is calm, the parasympathetic nervous system recovers the symptoms of your subconscious defence mechanisms (anxiety, anger) and returns your system to a state of balanced equilibrium, or homoeostasis
  • With homoeostasis returning, the bronchial muscles (lungs) relax and return to their normal function: plenty air to the lungs!

If stress is the common cause, then stress therapy is the most efficient treatment. NBSR Hypnotherapy has been providing solutions for job and life stress since 2005, and runs regular workshops to address a variety of problem areas and personal development. If you suffer from asthma, or if you know someone who can't find their "Off" switch, click this link now to find out more about the NBSR Workshop series. The next workshop "NBSR Anger & Anxiety Management Method" provides you with an easy to learn 3 step process for overcoming anger anxiety, and asthma, and switching on your inner peace.

Have The Life You Want

Four months into 2013 and the proverbial is still hitting the fan...
Just last week: my car blew its air con, all my remotes stopped working, (car alarm, front gate, and work gate) my Ubuntu computer operating system version expired, requiring an obligatory and lengthy process of familiarising myself with a totally new and unfamiliar desktop... and my phone, freshly liberated from its contract, would NOT connect to the internet.

I'm not a hippy (any more) but I have to ask: am I the only one experiencing spontaneous failure of my reality-matrix accessing hardware? And is it coincidental, or is this shift storm part of "The Whole 2012 Thing?"

Not being a hippy any more means that I now require scientific proof, or sufficient anecdotal evidence, for my belief to adhere to new knowledge, but I'm not above accepting common sense. According to NASA, the Sun is currently enduring the most active section of its 11 year solar flare cycle, occasionally projecting coronal mass ejections (gargantuan blasts of magnetic solar matter) into space. Since we are family, some of these huge magnetic blobs shoot strait over our heads, momentarily engulf our planet, and rattle off into infinite space. Because of the Earth's protective magnetic field and higher atmospheric layers, nothing dramatic occurs visually, apart from a noticeably more fantastic Aurora at the poles. But what do you think would happen to your cell phone reception if you left your phone in the path of a sustained magnetic blast such as an electro magnetic pulse?

Solar_flares

Actually, we already know what will happen to your cell phone reception, because EMPs are actual weapons, used for the cunning application of taking out the opponents electrical systems... and their cell phones, their gate remotes, work and home, as well as their Google Contacts to Blackberry sync options. The enemy is no longer able to chat on face book, send bulk emails, blip bip their BMWs, connect to whats app, or share pics via bb.

If solar flares are to EMPs, as tsunamis are to knocking over a cup of tea, what effect is this heightened solar activity really having on our planet?

NASA has adopted a cautious attitude of nonchalant condescension, clearly attempting to avoid the potential for panic and sensationalism inherent in the idea that a gigantic and volatile mass of nuclear reactions, only 8 light-minutes away from our planet, is throwing stuff at us. NASA plays the whole thing down rather. They're going with "Its really quite technical, not as bad as it sounds, nothing to see here folks."
Albert Einstein said "God does not play with dice", and I do not believe in coincidence. When you have to get out of your car 4 times a day to open your so called "remote" operated gates, and wander around the entrance to your securely shut premises in which you live or work, pushing and waving your remote like a metal detector, you may be tempted to ask questions.

My first question is: What should I do when nothing works?
My second question is: How am I supposed to know?

This concludes my questions. Let us proceed with philosophy. Tao Master Lau Tsu is famous for writing:
"Before enlightenment, sweep the floor.
After enlightenment, sweep the floor."

Perhaps his annoyingly simple, irresistibly charming, Yoda-inspiring wisdom can be appropriated to mean: When your remote is broken, get a new remote?
This kind of thing can really throw a spanner in the works if you let it get to you. Its easy to ask the wrong questions:
Why is everything going wrong?
Why is life giving me broken plates instead of more money?
Should I stop what I am doing? Am I doing it wrong?

Get_back_on_it_web

The car in which you are travelling towards the life of your dreams, slowly comes to a halt at the side of the road in the middle of the desert. There is plenty of petrol, but the driver is looking at the map, lost or procrastinating, and the supplies will only last a few more days. It is imperative that this driver commit to a decision and keep driving, because this car could be stuck for a very long time, and if the supplies run out, the driver may have to get out and walk.

What IS he talking about?

The car symbolises the force that moves you forward, could be your job, your passion, your Love, your Xbox... If you set your driving force (car) in the right direction, (toward your dream) you will arrive.

So, this is all very romantic, but when life happens, and things go wrong all at once, and we start to doubt our direction, then we stop moving toward our goal, and we start stagnating. In this dream metaphor, we would get out of the car, dig a hole in the sand next to the road for no particular reason, put out the camping chairs, crack open a beer, and convince ourselves that its much better to live here instead of chasing after wild imaginings, and we should let go of the foolish idea that we could ever reach our dreams. Conveniently for this metaphor, there are occasional whooshes of other cars speeding past, confident in their direction and purpose, as well as plenty of other drivers that have also pulled over and dug holes in the sand.

If you are a sand hole camper and you want to get back on the road to your dreams, I have just the thing for you:

New from the NBSR Workshop Series:
Have The Life You Want

This workshop takes a practical approach to your individual situation and shows you how to reverse-engineer your dream, bringing your dream to you instead of you having to chase it. Reverse-engineering is a fantastic, highly successful approach to getting something you don't have, because it takes an existing model of what you want and de-constructs it to find out how it works. Imagine you found a crashed flying saucer on the beach. (It's empty, the aliens had ejector seats.) If your sister's baby-sitter's dad were a rocket scientist, you could take him your find and ask him to tell you how it works, so you could mass produce flying saucers in China and make pot loads of money as the owner of the worlds first low-flying anti-gravity car company. He would take the flying saucer apart with tiny screw drivers, figure out how anti-gravity works, tell you he doesn’t know, and sell the design for pot loads of money on e-bay.

Your sister's baby-sitters dad aside, we can use reverse-engineering on our own dreams, and this workshop tells you how.

Whether this proverbial storm turns out to be solar, cosmic, karmic, or coincidental, I need access to my reality matrix in order to reach my dream, and I need hardware to do that, so I replaced my remotes, booked the car in for the air con job on Thursday, called Vodacom and got reconnected, and sat square-eyed for the last week configuring Ubuntu and sucky Unity. And even though I whined about how long it took for me to find the Gnome option (better), and how many complications, mistakes, and do-overs there were, and why me I don't have time for this, it feels good to know that this matrix access hardware is good for another few years. Who knows, maybe some of it will last until the next proverbial storm in 2024 :)

If you would like more information about the Have The Life You Want workshop, click here to be teleported to the NBSR Hypnotherapy website for details. I look forward to meeting you at the workshop :)

Meditation and Motivation for Anxiety and Depression

3_300k_meditation_and_motivation_for_anxiety_and_depression

Take a deeeep breath...
And let it ouuuut.

Can you imagine being told anything more infuriating when you are feeling anxious?

Hold my breath??? Are you TRYING to give me a heart attack?? I'd like to see YOU relax and take a deep breath when YOUR chest feels like its about to explode!

Depression is'nt any easier. Picture a football coach giving his best "Go Get Em" prep talk to a sofa inhabited by a droopy figure who feels like a ghost, and you have a pretty good idea.

Pills work, we like pills. They're easy, you don't have to take any more responsibility than remembering to take them, they're socially acceptable, and they were prescribed (one hopes) by "The Doctor".

What could possibly be wrong?

For readers familiar with the chain of events that occurs when using pharmaceuticals, the irony is clear:

Pills have side effects.

Sleeping may seem unimportant to you during a time of pressure and head spinning panic attacks or debilitating depression, but in retrospect, William Dement's well known insomnia research in the 1960s may seem startlingly resonant. Dement showed that prolonged lack of sleep causes both anxiety and depression.

Other side effects meander across a vast field of dysfunctional behaviour, and yet, this is what we do. The more varying the side effects, the more pills are required to bring your deliriously confused body back to "NORMAL". Its like the song about the old lady who swallowed a fly: "She swallowed a spider to catch the fly, she swallowed a bird to catch the spider, she swallowed a cat to catch the bird, she swallowed a dog to catch the cat, she swallowed a horse to catch the dog...

Is this normal? Is this sane? Really?

We can understand the cause of anxiety and depression very simply, by identifying what is missing. If you have anxiety, relaxation is missing. If you have depression, motivation is missing.

Within these two over-simplified statements, there exists enough complexity to spend several years talking to a therapist, quantifying which event in the past caused each repercussion in the present. Let's assume you spent 18 months working it all out. Where would you be? Exactly where you are now with one major change: you can now tell your story, your history, your past. Do you have the peace of mind that you started out searching for? Have you achieved your most accessible life goal?

This myth: "The key to your future is understanding your past" is the reason for so much stagnation, suffering, and entrapment. How can you see where you are going by looking backwards??! Does'nt that seem a little, well, backward?

When is it time to leave pseudo-profound anonymous sayings in the Pick n' Pay diaries where we found them, and listen to real people who are actually doing what we want to do, and living the lives that we want to live? There are people who are doing this right now.

Every author of a "How To Be Brilliant And Successful Like Me" book has one thing in common: they left their past in the past, let bygones be bygones, planned the goal they wanted, and went after it with every spanner they had!

It is my reward to present to you:

Anxiety and depression may seem like polar opposites, but they are actually two sides of the same coin. One is very rarely present without the other. You do not have to be officially diagnosed to suffer with anxiety or depression, its just a feeling of being outdone, defeated, disappointed, wanting more out of life, or feeling that your goals are out of reach, or that sometimes things seem a little overwhelming and you feel like you want to get off the carousel, or you feel you need a vacation shortly after returning from one.

After studying human behaviour for many years, and becoming an International Hypnotherapist and Stress Consultant, I founded Neuro-Behavioural Sound Reprogramming in 2005, to address behavioural problems and life challenges holistically. NBSR uses a combination of therapeutic techniques including behavioural analysis, hypnotherapy, and common sense, to transform your challenge into a spiritual, emotional, and physical goal attainment.

I look forward to sharing this dynamic and thorough system of personal transformation and self-empowerment with you. Feel free to brows the testimonials on the website, and get an idea about what I do, or you can email me directly at www.nbsr.co.za/contact

THIS VALENTINES DAY: HYPNOSIS TECHNIQUES FOR ATTRACTING LOVE

Seriously? Valentines Day??
Stop reading this! Are you 12?

You are special every day, why do you need to be told you are more special on some random day? Who even remembers why its called Valentines day? And who's profiting from all these fluffy hearts and chocolates?

Every year, with varying degrees of awareness, I go through the dilemma of what to buy, where to go for dinner, how to dress, or whether to boycott the whole thing and laugh it off as another consumer conspiracy! It was so much easier before the sly birth of cynicism... Am I jaded beyond any hope of romance?

Italy-honeymoon_1

Thanks to good fortune, my bedazzling rescuers have convinced me that there is merit in acknowledging a day of romance, so I am holding a workshop for couples and singles alike, to understand how your own personal force of attraction works. Understanding your subconscious behaviour unlocks your ability to attract the right partner if you are single, or to attract your present partner more strongly if you are a couple, and ultimately to achieve inner happiness, within or without a relationship.

Are you searching for your inner bliss?
Who are you? Who do you attract?
Are you with the right person?
Do you feel like your relationship has reached a plateaux?
Are you still searching for The One?

In my training at HMI, I learned a model of human behaviour based on left and right brain hemisphere dominance. This model is without a doubt the centre-most concept that I use when working with a person in hypnosis. Its like a set of keys that fits the desires of each individual exactly, and allows for an unparalleled understanding of personalities and relationships. I am delighted to share with you:

The Model of Physical And Emotional Behaviour

Workshop Outline

  • Who are you? Who do you attract?
  • Physical Behaviour (Right hemisphere dominance)
    • Dos and Don'ts, Cans and Can'ts
  • Emotional Behaviour (Left hemisphere dominance)
    • Dos and Don'ts, Cans and Can'ts
  • Who are you now? Who is your partner?
  • The Hypnosis Technique for Attracting LOVE
  • Locating your inner bliss
(The full "E and P" questionnaire will be emailed to you after the workshop)

Understanding and applying this behaviour model has saved thousands of relationships from the brink of destruction, and helped thousands more individuals realise what was holding them back in their relationships and their lives, what mistakes they were making, and how to find the lasting partnership of which they always dreamed. In my practice alone, every one of my clients who has applied this model has experienced a sense of personal realisation and liberation, and a remarkable increase in their ability to attract their chosen partner! With this knowledge of your own and your partner's behaviour you can surprise your loved one this Valentines Day buy avoiding the cliches and doing something that really makes them happy. And the best part is: it does'nt fade away the next day! Knowing about the Physical and Emotional polarity deepens your understanding of your self, your partner, and your relationship. Whether you book just for yourself, and impress your partner with your new-found knowledge, or whether you book for both of you, and deepen your understanding of your connection, if you are searching for your soul mate, or if you just want to enjoy being you, this workshop will have a profoundly uplifting effect on every area of your life.

12 Self Hypnosis Tips To Accomplish Your New Years Resolutions

Most people have given up on all of this. What's different about New Year? Why should this be a good time to set resolutions? Even if the change of the year was somehow auspicious, writing a list of resolutions does'nt make them happen, so why bother?

And in this way, we carry on with life according to homoeostasis, and nothing changes except that the idea that nothing changes sets deeper and deeper into the subconscious mind. "Change is hard. It's too much hard work! Life is hard enough without having to do more hard stuff. Its probably better just to leave things be" says the subconscious mind after this conditioning.

I find the new year (or are we calling it the new age now?) as good a time as any to take a perspective look at what has happened, what is happening, and what I would like to happen. Its auspicious for me because I say it is. When I think of how much time in total I spent last year wishing things were different, its clear to me that I am certainly not better off just leaving things be, and fortunately, because of my line of work, I am able to do something about it :)

Writing a list of resolutions, you can light it, send the smoke up the chimney, and wait for Father Christmas to bring you a Lamborghini, but there is also another way:

May I present to you

12 Self Hypnosis Tips

To Accomplish Your

New Years Resolutions

1

Make a list! Go on, be a sport! Give yourself a break! And don't be mean, ask for what you really want. It can be 50 things, or 1 thing. But remember, Father Christmas was your first option, in this option there is only one person who is going to make it happen: YOU ;)

2

For each goal on your list, write a step by step description of the fastest possible way you can imagine, for you to achieve your goal. Some of these steps will involve steps within steps. You must quantify everything that you think needs to be done. This list will change all the time. Keep it somewhere accessible so you can update it each time you accomplish another step towards your goal, or each time the plan changes.

3

Prioritise your list from easiest to hardest. Starting with the easiest goal gives you a great confidence kick when you accomplish it, and gives you the traction to stick with the longer, tougher goals.

4

Set aside a certain time every day, or every week, for you to do the donkey work on accomplishing the goal you have chosen to start with. Diaries it! In addition to your "workshop time", you will also need to set aside 10 to 15 minutes each night for Self Hypnosis. You have to get done what needs to get done, and this takes time, but if you stop here, nothing will happen, because nobody wants to be a donkey!

(That's why there are 12 Tips :)) ...

5

Write a visual affirmation of one or two sentences for each of your goals, starting with the easiest goal to accomplish, and moving down the list to the hardest. Write about what each goal looks like, and how you will look when you have it, or when you are doing it. Word the affirmation as if you have already achieved it.

E.g. I am driving my yellow Lamborghini Gallardo with gunmetal interior down a boulevard lined with palm trees.

6

Write an emotional affirmation of one or two sentences for each of your goals, starting with the easiest goal to accomplish, and moving down the list to the hardest. Write about what this goal feels like for you emotionally, as if you already have it.

E.g. I love this car! I feel exhilarated and yet completely comfortable in this seat. This feels like the car I should have been driving all along!

7

Locate the Voice Notes Recorder on your phone, and record the visual and emotional affirmation of the easiest goal, on the same take. (Or you can write this on a postit note and place it where you can easily learn your affirmation.)

E.g.  I am driving my yellow Lamborghini Gallardo with gunmetal interior down a boulevard lined with palm trees. I love this car! I feel exhilarated and yet completely comfortable in this seat. This feels like the car I should have been driving all along!

8

Learn by heart your complete affirmation to your first (easiest) goal. If you have recorded it on your phone, play it over and over, and say it while its playing, until you can say it without the recording. If you are reading it off a postit, well... just learn it!

(One good session will be enough for you to by heart your affirmation.)

9

Throughout your day, say your complete affirmation to yourself, silently in your mind or out loud, however feels more powerful for you. You can do this while driving, showering, exercising, any time you can focus on this particular goal. Having a set time, like showering or at the gym, helps to assure that you will do this every day.

10

Every night, take 10 to 15 minutes before going to sleep for your Self Hypnosis session. Prepare by relaxing in any way you know. If you know Yoga, or a meditation technique, or if you have a relaxation CD, or if you pray every night, do your Self Hypnosis session after everything. Make it the last thing, so that your mind can take your Self Hypnosis experience directly into subconscious when you sleep. Take a minimum of 5 minutes to relax. If you don't know any techniques, you can use this Yoga relaxation:

Sit comfortably with a cushion for your lower back, remind yourself that the day is over, relax your shoulders. Listen your heartbeat, observe how the rhythms of your heart and your breath synchronise.

[Do this for 5 Minutes]

11

Have your eyes closed so that you can visualise or imagine more easily, and begin with your visual affirmation only, repeating it over and over in your mind. Vary the speed, there's no hurry. Enjoy the visual aspect of your imagination. Its not important that you can picture it, not everyone can visualise. Just imagine what it looks like. The subconscious mind can not tell the difference between what is real and what is imagined!

[Do this for 5 Minutes]

12

Finally, use your emotional affirmation, and let yourself imagine the emotions that you describe. Repeating only the emotional aspect of your affirmation, let those positive feelings build inside you. If you notice any negative emotion like sadness, hopelessness, jealousy etc, use your affirmation to focus on the positive emotion, that's what its for. Your positive affirmation keeps your mind focussed on positive emotion, and that's the message that goes into your subconscious, because your subconscious mind does not know the difference between what is real and what is imagined!

And of course, when you accomplish your goal, you pick the next one off the list! Its awesome! Don't forget to do the donkey work... I would love to hear about your experiences with these 12 Self Hypnosis Tips, so please leave your comments, or email me your questions. I can assure you that this method works because I use it myself, for manifesting everything from my camera to my relationship!

(Bear in mind that some goals take a little longer than others!!!)

Remember to keep your affirmations positive, because your subconscious mind absorbs everything, and here's to an outstanding year ahead!
